Best Drone Gimbals – quadcopter gopro stabilizers

If you have ever shot with a gopro camera on your drone, you know that it’s not that easy to get pro-looking videos.

The number one rule for most is the ability to have free flowing, silky smooth images.

A must-have, and the best way to achieve this, and get a stable video shot from your drone, is with a gimbal.

Drones obviously move about a lot while in the air, shakes, and the slightest blast of wind can turn great footage into amateur looking videos.

Gimbals will stabilize your gopro camera despite any movements the Drone might take, ensuring your film quality is picture perfect.

Deciding which Gimbal is the best for your needs depends on what type of footage you are trying to capture.

Drones can be used to survey land and countryside, and that type of imagery will require still motion shots, while filming let’s say a skiing or surfing video will certainly require a great Gimbal to keep your videos smooth.

There are many different types of Gimbals so we are going to advise you on the best ones for your Drones.

3DR Solo Gimbal

If you own a Solo Quadcopter Drone, then this great Gimbal is definitely a must have.

The Gimbal will stabilize all your footage, ensuring that video vibrations are a thing in the distant past.

The 3DR Solo Gimbal literally takes about 5 minutes to set up.

Take it out of the box, connect a couple of cables and screws and you are good to go!

The 3-axis Gimbal delivers a perfect GoPro performance, capturing fluid HD quality each and every flight, with 0.1 degrees of aiming accuracy. One of the best 3 Axis gimbals for drones.

Andoer 2D Light Weight Gimbal for DJI Phantom

The Andoer 2D Brushless motor Gimbal is a fantastic option if you own the DJI Phantom Drone.

The first point to touch on is that it is a cheap drone gimbal! This is the best gimbal for drone videography if you have a low budget.

You might think that this Gimbal is cheap and cheerful, but no, it is extremely effective for what it is designed to do – keep you videos smooth and steady.

As the Gimbal is made from an Aluminum alloy structure (weighing only only 163g) it makes it extremely lightweight, ensuring it doesn’t take up much extra power of you Drone when in use.

Walkera G-2D 2 Axis drone gimbal

The Walkera G-2D 2 Axis Brushless Gimbal is another low cost stabilizer for your drone.

Walkera G-2D with a gopro hero 3

The Gimbal provides Very stable, very smooth videos. It works for both Hero3 and Hero4 black Cameras and you can use the polar filters for extra lens protection.

Installation on the Walkera is okay, although the instruction manual is in very poor English, therefore, you might be better looking on YouTube for the setup process.

The stability is wonderful, there is a huge difference between the before and after videos. For the price, it cannot be bettered.

Feiyu Tech Mini 3D

Designed for the DJI Phantom Drones, the Feiyu Tech 2 Axis Brushless Gimbal is lightweight and provides super imagery.

Footage is smooth with accurate leveling and is really easy to set up unlike some other drone Gimbals.

The Gimbal comes with 3 modes

– Camera is permitted to pan left or right. Vertical tilts or rolls are restricted. Panning/Tilting Mode. Camera is allowed to pan left to right and tilt up and down. Pan Rolls are restricted. Full-Axis-Lock Mode

Camera stays in its current orientation. All panning, when tilting and rolls are restricted.

DJI Zenmuse H4-3D DJI Phantom gimbal

The Zenmuse H4-3D Gimbal is designed to be connected to DJI Phantom 2 Drones although it can be added to many more with a few extra props.

The 3-axis, brushless motor corrects itself for the pitch and roll motion, and allows for tilting of up to -130 to +45 degrees.

It can power from the flight battery without any compromise, and for the Phantom 2 installations it uses the Drones integrated GCU with an optional GCU that is sold separately for other models.

The H4-3D Gimbal is also compatible with the A2, Naza‐M, Naza‐M V2, WooKong-M, and Phantom 2 flight control systems.

One thing to keep in mind, the H4-3D Gimbal can only be used for the GoPro HERO4 Black and will not work with the HERO3, HERO3+, and HERO4 Silver.

The Firmware can be easily upgraded using a PC or Mac device.

The last thing to mention is that the video quality is exceptional, free from any jittery movements.  Definitely one of the best drone gimbals if it fits your current setup.
