Review: Feiyu Tech FY-WG 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal (PROS & CONS)

The Feiyu Tech FY-WG 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal for Gopro is yet another quality product from our friends at Feiyu.

As wearable Gimbals go, the Feiyu Tech FY-WG is one of the best on the market.

We have been lucky enough to try out this Gimbal and below is our honest review.

Real life use

The first thing we will point out that in this review, is please that you should not switch on the device without the camera on it.

Switching on the device without the camera on will pull on the connector wire inside in panning axis, and that will disconnect the wire, then it will take you quite a bit of time and effort connecting it again.

A lot of Gopro Gimbals have the same issues when starting up without any camera, so it’s good to be aware of that before we move on to the great points.

We found the Feiyu Tech FY-WG Gimbal to be great once we had it set up (approx 20 mins).

We found the device to be extremely versatile as it can  be used on a motorcycle helmet attached via gopro mount.

You can also attach it to most bike handlebars without too much difficulty.

The videos taken with a Hero4 Go pro come out very smooth without any lags or jerking movements.

It is really easy to control the stabilizer from the Single Button Control outlay on the bottom of the main frame.

There is also a handy remote control you can keep in your hand to change the panning, tilting and rolling angles as well as a 360 degree turner while in free flow.

The batteries and charger are well made, and you can expect around 3 hours of continuous  filming before you need to recharge the batteries.

Overall review

Overall the build quality is fantastic just like other products Feiyu Tech manufacture.

The possibilities are limitless on mounting the Gimbal to things.

The modes are really easy to change via the control once you get the hang of it.

We only wish the control was a wireless one, as that would be easier to control, but hey, no take that as a negative!

The holding case is extremely handy to have, as you can take the Gimbal with you easily and start shooting on them spare of the moment situations.

The battery life is really fair as you will get around 3 hours of usage once fully charged.

The batteries will be on maximum after a couple of hours plugged in.

We would strongly recommend the Gimbal if you was to hook it up to your helmet or anything else for that matter as it’s really easy to operate and supplies free flowing motion videos.
